Geneva winery named Best Organic Wine, Two cellars share top title!

Monday, 18 October, Bern – The Grand Prix du Vin Suisse top wine awards were announced to a crowd of 400 people from the vine and wine world, in Bern.

For the first time in the history of this national competition the Swiss Winery of the Year title was given to two cellars: congratulations go to Domaine Kursner in Féchy and Johanniterkeller in Twann!

Geneva’s wineries celebrated their excellent results: the Swiss Best Organic Wine title went to Domaine de Chambet in Gy for its Pinot Noir 2020, and two other wineries were awarded third place in their categories. “Cuvée Constance” 2020 from Domaine de la Vigne Blanche in Cologny was third for the Gamaret/Garanoir wines as was the Gamay 2020 from Domaine des Perrières in Peissy in its group.

Four other Geneva wines were listed for the finals in Bern: “Clemence” 2019 (Merlot), Cave de Genève;  “Cuvée des Lions” 2020 (Garanoir), Château de Laconnex; “L’Étoile de Miolan”, a sparkling wine from Domaine de Miolan; “La Chenaie” 2019 (Gamay), Domaine des Perrières.

Geneva’s overall results in this 15th edition of the Grand Prix du Vin Suisse were excellent, with a total of 21 gold and 29 silver medals. The competition saw 2,821 wines entered, from all of Switzerland’s wine-producing cantons.
